CTV Live News at 6 A Success!

If you were around Carnduff yesterday, you could feel the buzz in the air! The CTV Bus pulled into town around 2:00 and from there the tours began! Manny, Carla and Cameraman Garath were given a tour of Carnduff at "great heights" thanks to Dennis Day and Helicopter Pilot Timothy! An experience I believe they were all to grateful for. From there the two news anchors began their tour down Main Street stopping for photo opportunities and the chance to talk to the residents about our community. From there is was back to the park to prepare for the evening news cast.

The Carnduff Lions and Swimming Pool Project Committee served up some delicious barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers to the close to 350-400 people in attendance for the Live News Cast. At 6:00 the cameras started rolling and from there Carnduff was featured as the first stop in the CTV Home Town Tour! Following the broadcast the crew mingled with the crowd and signed autographs! It was an excellent day and a great day for the residents of our community and surrounding area to showcase who we are and what a great place Carnduff is to live, work and play!

The Town of Carnduff would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the residents of Carnduff, the surrounding community and the many volunteers who contributed to the success of the CTV News at 6 Home Town Tour!

CTV Comes To Town!

If you were out and about town today, you may have noticed a couple of individuals doing interviews and taking video of various aspects of our community. Carnduff has been chosen as one of the stops on CTV's Hometown Tour, in which CTV will report live from ten communities across our province in ten days. Today we had two reporters in the community gathering information for a short story on our community. This information piece will be aired on Monday, September 28th when CTV is in town to do their Live On Location Evening Broadcast!

Be sure to turn to CTV Regina to see Carnduff highlighted in the 2009 CTV Hometown Tour!

Create Curiosity ~ Let's Sell Carnduff!

Last night I had the opportunity to attend the Create Curiosity ~ Sell Saskatchewan Workshop that was held in town. It was brought to the community through the Saskatchewan Tourism Education Council (STEC) and Tourism Saskatchewan. The workshop was well attended by a number of Community Members and Business Leaders.
Topics for discussion included defining Tourism, what does Tourism means and what its benefits to our community are, tourists experiences and its reflection on the community. We also discussed what we as a community have to offer our visitors or "tourists" in our community as well as areas that we could focus on. A great discussion was also held on becoming and being a positive ambassador for our community. This discussion led to the importance of customer service in our businesses and how the two work hand in hand!
There were many great ideas that came out of the evening in which we can work with and grow. Thank you to those that attended, your contributions to the evening ensured the success of the workshop!
